Sports Day on October the Second Monday in Japan

On October 10, 1964, in Tokyo, the Olympics were held to commemorate the event and to promote the idea of “a day for the nation to embrace sports and cultivate a healthy mind and body.” This led to the establishment of a national holiday called “Health and Sports Day.” In 2000, through a legal amendment, it was moved to the second Monday of October every year.

Enjoy exercising and any sports!
